If You Are Looking For Great Ideas

For Fundraising Events You Are

In The Right Place!

Welcome to my website entitled ‘Ideas for Fundraising Events’. This informative website has been created to help you raise funds for your club or organisation.  If you are involved with a sports or charitable club this website can help you………………

Raise £20,000 in just 8 days!

Sounds amazing?

Well, it’s true!

My rugby club has done this every year for 25 years!

Virtually all clubs and organisations need to raise much-needed funds, whether it is for the club’s survival, or for land purchase, or tours, or new changing rooms or just for the fun of it.

Whatever the reason be assured, with determination and a little help from your friends, me included, you can succeed year after year, and raise thousands of pounds (or dollars)!

And not only that, but you will also benefit from an incredible uplift in club membership, integrating your club into community in a way you may well have struggled to in the past.

However, the clubs who commit to raising funds in the way I describe here can expect to be rewarded on a number of fronts particularly these days, when community engagement has become the life-blood of sports clubs including:

  • Income generation and fund raising
  • Positive PR for the club – internally and externally
  • Profile raising within the community
  • Increased bar takings
  • Increased membership
  • Cross-club involvement
  • Inter-club relationship building
  • Community interaction
  • Endless fun and laughter

Sports clubs tend to attract individuals of a certain type – committed, hard working and full of life. It will be important to tap into this resource if your ideas for fundraising events get off the ground and are going to be successful.

If this is a project you decide to pursue, and I cannot encourage you enough to do so, you will need all these characteristics by the bucket-load. All this and a great sense of humour but more of that later!

Ideas for fundraising events – the first steps

The activity I will be recommending to you is based on my first-hand experience and really works. I will not be giving you ideas for fundraising events that are not tried and tested. Each idea is based on activity I personally got involved with and I recommend to you with absolute confidence.

If, at fiirst glance, the ideas for fundraising events here seem overwhelming look again. Eat this particular elephant one slice at a time and you can achieve great things – that’s a promise!

However, you will not be able to do everything I guide you to by yourself. You will need to recruit several allies – close chums or colleagues who will also commit themselves to the task ahead…..and have some great fun along the way!

A long list af ideas for fundraising events include:

  • Summer balls
  • Race Nights
  • Beer festivals
  • Comedy nights
  • Talent shows
  • Family fun days

But my number one recommendation to you is…………………………………

7 easy steps to put the FUN into your Fundraising

1. Commit yourselves to producing an Adult Panto

2. Create the Axis of Fun – the 3 Amigos!

3. Build your team

4. Find your team spirit

5. Choose your show

6. Plan, plan and plan again

7. Go for it!

The Power of Adult Panto

Put simply, the answer to this question is commit yourself and create what I term as ‘The Axis of Fun’, a small group of three highly motivated individuals – the Panto leaders – who have the vision and energy to get this project up and running! They are:

1. The Panto person

2. The Producer

3. The Director

The Panto person is the main protagonist who sees the potential and is determined to get this project off the ground.

The Producer could be the same person as above but it would be easier if this work was shared. He or she will activate various elements within the Club to make things happen such as stage design and building, lighting, band, sound and ticket sales.

His or her main characteristics are gregariousness, a host of contacts and an ability to convince these contacts to perform various tasks.

The Director is a current or former thespian with some knowledge of acting, stage craft and putting on a show. Every club has one – they just need digging out and convincing they can do the job!

This small group will be at the centre of everything including the following fundamental questions:

  • Can we do this?
  • Which show do we produce?
  • When the show is to take place?
  • How many performances?
  • Where in the club do we position the stage?
  • What is the maximum audience?
  • Who takes charge of sales, marketing and price of tickets?
  • What are the health and safety considerations?
